Celebrating four years of the Restart Scheme

18 Nov. 2025
This November marks a significant milestone for Ingeus and our partners as we celebrate four years of delivering the Restart Scheme, transforming lives and supporting people into lasting work.

Ingeus has delivered the Restart Scheme on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) since 2021 in Greater Manchester and Central & West London, and in partnership with Serco in the Central West Midlands.

We provide tailored support to jobseekers referred by their local Jobcentre Plus Work Coach who have been out of work for 12 months or more. Each participant benefits from guidance from a dedicated advisor, specialist support and access to exclusive local job opportunities. Together with our partners, including Groundwork, The Growth Company and Get Set UK, we have connected participants with employers to create sustainable employment.

Manpreet Chand from EE said: “Ingeus has been an important part of us expanding our social outreach into the community, looking at putting jobseekers that are economically inactive into sustainable employment.”

General Manager, Moye Ubor at CherryTree Foundation, said: “We now work across 15 London boroughs, and having access to Ingeus advisors, their centres and their candidates has brought us many benefits.”

Over the last four years, we have supported more than 215,000 people through the Restart Scheme, helping them overcome barriers to employment and build brighter futures with holistic support.

Julie Graham, CEO of Employment Services, said: “The Restart Scheme has been a game-changer for so many people. Our teams have shown incredible commitment to helping participants regain confidence and achieve their goals. This anniversary is a moment to celebrate their hard work and the resilience of those we support.”

As we look ahead, we remain committed to evolving our services to meet the changing needs of jobseekers and employers, ensuring our teams continue to deliver positive outcomes for communities across the UK.

Jack, a former Restart Scheme participant, said:

“I was applying for jobs on a daily basis, but it was only with the Restart Scheme’s support that I started to make progress.” After support in obtaining a Construction Skills Certification Scheme, he was able to successfully start a job as a labourer at a construction company.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this success story. Here’s to building on four years of impact and creating even more opportunities in the future!
