Ingeus to deliver DWP functional health assessments

25 May 2023
Ingeus UK, part of global human services provider APM Group, has been awarded a new contract to provide functional health assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in South East England, London and East Anglia. The new functional assessment service will launch in 2024 following an extensive mobilisation period and will run for 5 years.

The new contracts will replace the current multi-provider set up with a single health assessment provider in each area of the country, bringing together PIP and HDAS (Health and Disability Assessment Services) contracts into one service to deliver health assessments for all benefits that require one.

Fiona Monahan, Chief Executive Officer for Ingeus UK commented: “Building on our long track record of supporting claimants in the UK, and specifically our clinical experience working with experienced health care professionals, we will provide a high-quality service that focuses on the individual, while providing the foundations for the new and improved future Health Assessment Service in the UK.”

Michael Anghie, Group Chief Executive of APM Group, continued: “We look forward to partnering the Department for Works and Pensions to deliver these important Functional Assessments. APM is one of the leading health service providers in Australia delivering assessments across a wide range of sectors including Health, Disability and Aged Care.

Health assessments in the United Kingdom is a key focus market for APM and the opportunity to deliver these services demonstrates the strength of our local service delivery team, our reputation for service excellence, and our ability to leverage APM’s expertise across regions and markets.

The award continues the trend of APM executing its strategy and diversifying its business globally both in terms of geographically and strategic service offerings.”
