NCS Young People Raise Money with Car Wash for Mind Charity

23 Aug 2021
These Canterbury based young people have been taking part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme this summer, which is a government funded programme aimed to give young people the skills and confidence they need outside of a school environment.

The teens wanted to raise as much money as they could for Mind so went about creating flyers and canvassing their local area to see if they could gain interest. The young people did a waterless wash, using special products to clean the cars in a bid to save water and help the environment.

“I signed up to NCS so I could get more experience of the world, I wanted something to put on my CV and wanted to make new friends. My interpersonal skills have improved and it’s helped me socialise with new people”. – Daniel, Canterbury teen

“The teens raised over £200 for the Mind charity in the end which was a fantastic result! I’m really happy about how well they’ve worked together to produce such great results”. – NCS Team Leader
