Apply for support

Connect to Work is a voluntary programme that helps individuals to overcome barriers to employment and move closer to finding meaningful, sustainable work.

The Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub runs the programme locally with help from experts in supported employment.

We will help you start work by:

  • Giving you one-to-one support from one of our dedicated Employment Specialists.
  • Using your skills and goals to create a personalised job search strategy.
  • Supporting you to write a CV, cover letters, and job applications.
  • Giving you access to iWorks, our careers portal to help you in your job search.
  • Working with you to engage with employers within 30 days of beginning the programme.

Once you’ve started work, we will still be there to support you, working closely with you and your employer:

  • If you need new skills for your role, we’ll help you get them.
  • To make sure your workplace is fit for your needs.
  • Suggesting reasonable adjustments to make your workplace work for you.

Do you need help to stay in work or are you returning to the workplace after a period of sickness?

Is your health condition or disability is making it difficult for you to work? Have you been employed for three months or more? We can help:  Talking to your employer about workplace adjustments.

  • Talk to your employer about suitable workplace adjustments.
  • Work with you to resolve potential challenges in the workplace before they arise.
  • Identify possible training opportunities for both you and your employer to understand how to work together.
  • Facilitate a space to help you to talk to your employer and healthcare provider.
  • Work with you on your career plan.
  • Give you wellbeing tools and coping strategies to help you in work.
