Tomasz transitions from physiotherapy to remote assessments with Ingeus

After working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Tomasz was ready to explore a new direction for his clinical career. He found the perfect fit at Ingeus, where he now works remotely as a Functional Assessor, conducting assessments for the Health Assessment Advisory Service. 

“Before I joined Ingeus, I used to work as a physiotherapist, musculoskeletal physiotherapist. So, I worked with the outpatients, the people who have problems with muscles, joints, like a back problem, shoulder problem, knee problem.” 

The opportunity to apply his medical knowledge while working from home was a key draw. “I was attracted to the role because it allowed me to work using my medical knowledge and at the same time working remote opportunity. Tomasz found the recruitment process straightforward. Applying for the role on LinkedIn and getting a call the following day. “The interview process was very easy and the people are really approachable. During the whole process I was not stressed at all. I felt like I could talk easily.” 

He began his role in September and found the training programme thorough and supportive. “The new entrant training was quite extensive. The whole process takes six months. We start with a few weeks of learning about the potential conditions we’re going to come across, what we’re actually going to do during the role, and are introduced the systems that we're going to use.” 

“We are assigned a mentor and we start slowly by being assigned one case a day, which we will do together with our mentor. We get a lot of guidance and support.” 

Over time, Tomasz’s caseload increased gradually and the variety of conditions he now encounters has broadened his clinical experience. “I get to learn a lot of new things that I did not have opportunity to learn in my previous role because it was very narrow.” 

Tomasz also appreciates the flexibility that comes with remote working.
