Ingeus is celebrating after winning Creating Safety and Trust award at the West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience (ATR) Awards 2026, held last night at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The ATR Awards recognise individuals and teams across West Yorkshire who are transforming systems, services and lives through trauma‑responsive, compassionate practice.
Ingeus had been shortlisted in two categories for:
Connection and Belonging - Ingeus Academy
Creating Safety & Trust - Youth Arts
The award win recognises the commitment of Ingeus teams and partners to delivering safe, empowering and person‑centred support across the region.
The Ingeus Academy champions the skills and insight of people with lived experience of the criminal justice system. Across West Yorkshire, lived experience peer mentors work alongside advisors to support individuals with wellbeing, dependency and recovery needs, helping build trust, connection and a sense of belonging. Our peer mentors play a key role in engaging with young adults in the justice system and designed an approach to put each young adult’s voice at the heart of decision-making.
Katie Guest, Partnership Manager for Ingeus’ Commissioned Rehabilitative Services in Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. It reflects the passion, creativity and care our teams put into ensuring people feel safe, valued and able to grow. Being recognised at the ATR Awards is incredibly meaningful because it celebrates exactly what we strive for, trauma‑responsive support that changes lives. I couldn’t be prouder of the work happening across Ingeus Academy and Young Adults & Arts.”
The ATR Awards 2026 marked the launch of a renewed regional commitment to resilience‑building and system transformation. Ingeus was proud to celebrate alongside partners and nominees working to strengthen communities across West Yorkshire.
