The People and Skills South London Partnership (SLP) programme was an employment initiative helping unemployed people over 18 years old gain practical skills and training opportunities to support them into a sustainable job.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme ran from March 2024 until March 2025 and was open to residents in South London boroughs in Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Sutton.
Ingeus delivered the programme with specialist partners Beam and Belina Consulting, collaborating with five local authorities, community partners, and Jobcentre Plus to provide specialist employment support to over 700 people. Ingeus helped provide guidance in areas for people to improve interpersonal skills, engage in job searching, gain basic skills and vocational qualifications, and move into work opportunities.
Fiona Oakes, Programme Lead, South London Partnership, said:
“Ingeus has been instrumental in the success of the UKSPF People and Skills Programme across South London. Their outstanding integration of services, tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of each borough and its residents, has significantly enhanced the impact and reach of the programme.”
The programme provided positive outcomes with over 450 people gaining new technical skills, over 200 people achieving a job, over 150 courses completed and over 35 people progressing into further education or training.
