Amrita’s appetite for change

11 Feb. 2026
Amrita’s firm control of financial accounts never restricts her ‘try everything’ nature. From her love of travelling, world cuisines, and creative hobbies to a 13-year finance career built on exploring diverse roles, she’s curiously ambitious. So, when Amrita was encouraged to undertake a management apprenticeship in conjunction with a new role at Ingeus, she obviously jumped at the chance.

“I like to try new things and see what I enjoy,” says Amrita, a finance business partner within Ingeus’ Health Assessment Advisory Service.

“I began a totally new journey when I cut short a tour of Europe to join Ingeus four years ago and I haven’t looked back. I began in the employability team, later moved into the health division, and immediately became a management apprentice.

“I still love travelling, and enjoy lots of artistic hobbies, but Ingeus also gives me the opportunity to learn new things at work and be professionally creative.”

Management apprenticeships provide a route for learners to develop people, planning, and performance skills while applying them to their everyday job. For Amrita, who works in a small team responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight of one of Ingeus’ largest contracts, that involved a 12-month, Level 3 management diploma. The fully funded course, recognised by the Chartered Management Institute, was delivered online and by a learning mentor via training partner, Corndel.

“I was encouraged by my manager, supported with feedback from other Ingeus teams, and given dedicated work time to complete the modules,” adds Amrita, who is based in Birmingham. “It came at a perfect time; we were embedding a new contract so there were lots of opportunities to apply my learning to my job.

“After my degree and accountancy training, it was strange stepping back into a study routine, but the online learning portal meant I could work at my own pace, with structured calls with my mentor and Ingeus manager. The outcome has been excellent.”

Completed in 2025, Amrita’s apprenticeship has ongoing impact:

“I feel more confident as a team player. I know how to direct and communicate in a positive, progressive way,” she concludes.

“I began mentoring a junior colleague during my apprenticeship and that is also continuing. After a study break – and some travelling – I’ll be looking at the Level 5!”
