Give to Gain: Inspiring a culture of support for women

6 Mar. 2026
This International Women’s Day (8th March), the theme is ‘Give to Gain’. Sobia Nazir, People Partner at Ingeus and our InspireHER network group lead, shares why it is important to celebrate the power of giving - giving time, giving support, giving opportunities, and how those acts help us all gain a more equal, inclusive future. She also shares why this matter now more than ever.

At Ingeus, we believe every colleague deserves to feel valued, inspired, and uplifted in their professional journey. As a People Partner, I am a strategic ally and advocate for InspireHER, using my HR expertise to ensure the employee resource group has the insight, visibility and influence needed to meaningfully support women across Ingeus. I align InspireHER’s work with our wider the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy and business priorities, sharing real‑world trending topics, and helping shape initiatives that address the genuine barriers women face. This has included lived experience discussions on wellbeing, menopause and endometriosis support, to career development and inclusion.

By collaborating with our other employee networks and colleagues across Ingeus, I champion psychological safety and respectful dialogue. I can go beyond policy and data to actively promote gender equality and strengthen a culture where women voices are amplified, supported and able to thrive.

The InspireHER network group embodies the ‘Give to Gain’ spirit every day. Through open conversations, skill-building sessions, and honest storytelling, InspireHER encourages colleagues to give generously of their time, wisdom, and encouragement. The group helps celebrate key moments including International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month and World Menopause Day, while continually offering a safe, empowering space for connection and growth. When we give to each other, we all gain - as individuals, as teams, and as an organisation committed to gender equality.

Why “Give to Gain” matters

Sometimes the most transformative moment comes from a simple, “I’ve been there too,” - knowing someone else has shared a similar experience.

Gender equality isn’t achieved through grand gestures alone. It’s strengthened through the small, everyday actions we choose to take. International Women’s Day reminds us that change doesn’t just happen on global stages; it happens in conversations, in meetings, in moments of support, and in the choices we make to lift one another up. The sessions we deliver are designed to help reduce stigma, build confidence and strengthen a sense of belonging.

What does it mean to “Give to Gain”?

Giving to gain isn’t defined by seniority or job title, it’s defined by how we show up for one another, and is a mindset.
It looks like: We’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who drive our organisation forward, especially in a workforce where 69% of colleagues identify as women,  which including seven out of nine members of our Eexecutive team. Their leadership, resilience, and insights shape who we are and who we aspire to be. We’re equally proud of the colleagues who champion, support, and uplift them every day. Because when we give to one another, we all gain a more inclusive, equitable workplace.
